…the complete season.
It was a season full of challenges, but full of achievements as well. We started in division 4, with Olaf Rosenbjeg and that was about it. We found a team and built around him and he started deliver. Thanks to the results and scouting, I could develop the team further and bought a CL captain – Gelu Petcu. The team started to take shape, 6 HL, 6 CL and we were moving up the ranks – division 3 promotion achieved, then division 2 achieved. The main objective for the season was already touched by day 50 which was great. Gelu brought with him a wildcard for Valparaiso so I thought why not. The tour started poorly, only 14th place in the TT stage. Then, something only the OCM God knows what happened and the next stages were shambles. But, from shambles we created diamonds, right? The decision of buying Petcu proved to be the best at the end of the tour, when the organizers decided that due to the state of the tour, to keep the same winner this season as well. And that winner was Petcu. Paying 850k for him suddenly made sense, with that jersey in the trophy cabinet. By day 65, the season already looked like the best one. Promotion to division 2 achieved, tour won, what else could I have asked for?
Well, what happened afterwards is out of the dream world for me, as not in a million years I was thinking that my team can go so high in a matter of 2 months. Promotion to division 1 achieved! And, to have the best twist to the plot, the promotion was not secured by Olaf or Petcu, for whom I have paid a combined 1.5 million. No, it was achieved by Mirel Dinca! A CL drop-out, left on the sidelines as he was too old. Dinca rode the race of his life and managed to clinch the most important top 9 result in the team’s history as of yet. As soon as he crossed the finish line, Fighting were in division 1. Yes, Fighting were in division 1!
Looking back at season 54, I would say it gave us a platform to work on and 2 teams that proved they can do wonders, besides their regular jobs. All of this was possible by having the funds of scouting and the results. Combined, Olaf and Petcu brought 300k in the team. Add to that 1.2 million made by scouting and we are talking about resources for creating a great team.
Objectives for season 55?
Stay in division 1 and enjoy the ride, of course!

Right now, the risk is too high in my opinion and if I find a great talent, I prefer to sell him. But the wish is there and maybe in season 56 wil lhappen :).

Before starting this journey, I have asked the top 10 teams at that time for tips on how to get to division 1 and stay here and the top reply was that I should have 2 different teams. Great achievement! Still, wonder where you would end up if you didnt spend all that money on 2 captains, but only bought one of them and instead kept 2 or 3 talents yourself to train.
